Orwell Honey is a small-scale, local honey producer based in Chelmondiston on the Shotley Peninsula, run by a husband and wife team with a focus on quality, provenance and responsible beekeeping.
Our bees forage across the surrounding farmland, hedgerows, gardens and river landscape of the peninsula, meaning every batch reflects the local environment and the season in which it was produced. Because forage changes throughout the year, no two harvests are exactly the same.
We harvest in small batches and keep processing to a minimum to preserve the natural character of the honey. What goes into the jar is simply honey, shaped by local conditions, weather and the work of the bees.
Production is intentionally limited and availability is often seasonal. We would rather produce a smaller quantity of exceptional local honey than compromise on quality or scale.
Orwell Honey is, quite simply, a true local honey from Suffolk.
